The background shows the first test chip that I worked on with IBM/East Fishkill, New York (which no longer exits)

​

The experience gained working here was a great place to start my career. There were so many classes and opportunities to learn about semiconductors.

​

This particular chip was built in depletion mode NMOS.

​

It was cutting-edge technology at the time (3-micron) 

complete with C4 "solder bumps" for flip chip packaging

​

I also gained invaluable experience with bipolar memory design including the CTS bitcell and emitter-coupled bitcell

​

Some of these projects "taught" the need for disciplined verification methodology
